"Letting Go"

Hi everyone! It's been twelve days since my last post, a long twelve days too. I lost a dear and close friend last week and with all the holiday stuff upon me it's been a whirlwind of an emotional ride these last few days. Trying to stick to the "normal" yearly "got-to-get-this-done" schedule has been a joke and today I have found that all I really need to do is take a few quiet minutes to remember what really matters and let the rest go...

It doesn't matter if I have the holiday meal planned and everything bought ready to start preparing by tomorrow...

It doesn't matter if there are few decorations that didn't get put up and if everything in the house is not in its place...

It doesn't matter if I didn't get any of the gifts bought much less wrapped and under the tree...

It doesn't matter that I never got the Christmas cards laying on the dinner room table filled out and mailed off...

It doesn't matter that I FORGOT! the Christmas play was last Sunday...

It doesn't matter that I didn't get the fifty handbags made by the end of the year goal achieved...

What does matter is that I take these few quiet moments and remember how blessed I have been and how blessed I am with such wonderful family and friends that will help me throw a wonderful meal together last minute...and awesome friends that will laugh and understand when they get their cards in January with a little note telling them how much I love them. This year I will give the only gift I have to give, hugs from a true heart filled with gratefulness for the times we have together.

In memory of a truly awe inspiring man and my dear friend, Banner

  10. Oh Catlyn Sweetie...
I am so sorry to hear that Banner has graduated to heaven, but don't you know what a beautiful CHRISTmas he will have this year. That thought is all that gets me through the holidays sometimes, just knowing that my family and dear ones are having the most wonderful celebration of all with our Dear Lord and Savior.

As for the decorating and baking sweetie, like you said family will pull together and help, that is what family is all about sweet one. It is the being together that is most important, and sharing the holiday with our loved ones.

I am sending you a big hug for comfort and SO much love to remind you that I care. You are such a beautiful and special lady, and I have so enjoyed blogging with you in 2010. I can't wait to see what 2011 brings us sweet one. Happy days ahead.

Many hugs and SO much love to you, Sherry
