Happy New Year and Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy New Year!!!

I've been busy putting together a few collections from Art Fire and of course my first collection had to be PINK!

A collection "For all those tropical "sun and sand" lovers who long to exchange the fluffy ear muffs of winter for dazzling dangling fun in the sun earrings, the furry winter boots for feathery pink flip flops and the hot cups of cocoa for favorite iced cocktails on the beach! What better way to remember those warm sunny days where every summer loving bird flocks together on the sandy shores, than Pink Flamingos"

SNOW! on Christmas day!

Saying "Thank you" just doesn't seem like enough to all those that left such kind words for me on my last post, your words were a true gift that brightened this Christmas and lifted my heart. Who would have ever thought that blogging could be so therapeutic! You ladies in blog-land are truly awesome! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with family, friends and "LOVE" overflowing.

We got a white Christmas here in NC! Snow on Christmas day, that's a first for me!

Santa spoiled me this year! I got the new camera I asked for, but I also got the terrible cold that I didn't ask for! Oh well, that camera has a steady hand detection so if I start to sneeze while clicking the pic, it won't take the shot! LOL! Here are some pictures from my playing around with it..

Santa also got me my favorite perfume!

Happy Holidays!

"Letting Go"

Hi everyone! It's been twelve days since my last post, a long twelve days too. I lost a dear and close friend last week and with all the holiday stuff upon me it's been a whirlwind of an emotional ride these last few days. Trying to stick to the "normal" yearly "got-to-get-this-done" schedule has been a joke and today I have found that all I really need to do is take a few quiet minutes to remember what really matters and let the rest go...

It doesn't matter if I have the holiday meal planned and everything bought ready to start preparing by tomorrow...

It doesn't matter if there are few decorations that didn't get put up and if everything in the house is not in its place...

It doesn't matter if I didn't get any of the gifts bought much less wrapped and under the tree...

It doesn't matter that I never got the Christmas cards laying on the dinner room table filled out and mailed off...

It doesn't matter that I FORGOT! the Christmas play was last Sunday...

It doesn't matter that I didn't get the fifty handbags made by the end of the year goal achieved...

What does matter is that I take these few quiet moments and remember how blessed I have been and how blessed I am with such wonderful family and friends that will help me throw a wonderful meal together last minute...and awesome friends that will laugh and understand when they get their cards in January with a little note telling them how much I love them. This year I will give the only gift I have to give, hugs from a true heart filled with gratefulness for the times we have together.

In memory of a truly awe inspiring man and my dear friend, Banner

Pink Surprises and Albert Finney..

Happy Pink Saturday!  It's hard to believe that another week has gone by! Make sure you drop by Beverly's blog, "How Sweet The Sound"  for more pink happiness! So, let's see what pinkness I can share this week...

Every year my dear friend Cathy and I get together to make cheese balls for the holidays, look at these beautiful roses she surprised me with!  Pink surprises are always delightful!

I would share the recipe, but..."it's a secret!" Don't you just hate when sisters do that! LOL!  It's a simply recipe that everyone thinks we labor so hard over and you know it's not beneath us to flick a little flour on our faces and play the role of having slaved over these tasty wonders for hours!

Here are a few random pictures of some of our Christmas decor. I gained myself a little table top tree this year, our oldest son decided he didn't want his little tree in his room. It's so hard to get use to the idea that he is no longer a little boy, but a young man ready to start making his way in this world, I miss the little boy that believed in the wonder and magic of Santa and Christmas...

Beverly asked if we would share our favorite Holiday movie this week and my favorite would have to be
Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."  But not just any version of it, I love the  1970  musical version starring Albert Finney! He is such a character!

Hugs ~n~ Blessings!
