Pink Surprises and Albert Finney..

Happy Pink Saturday!  It's hard to believe that another week has gone by! Make sure you drop by Beverly's blog, "How Sweet The Sound"  for more pink happiness! So, let's see what pinkness I can share this week...

Every year my dear friend Cathy and I get together to make cheese balls for the holidays, look at these beautiful roses she surprised me with!  Pink surprises are always delightful!

I would share the recipe, but..."it's a secret!" Don't you just hate when sisters do that! LOL!  It's a simply recipe that everyone thinks we labor so hard over and you know it's not beneath us to flick a little flour on our faces and play the role of having slaved over these tasty wonders for hours!

Here are a few random pictures of some of our Christmas decor. I gained myself a little table top tree this year, our oldest son decided he didn't want his little tree in his room. It's so hard to get use to the idea that he is no longer a little boy, but a young man ready to start making his way in this world, I miss the little boy that believed in the wonder and magic of Santa and Christmas...

Beverly asked if we would share our favorite Holiday movie this week and my favorite would have to be
Dickens' "A Christmas Carol."  But not just any version of it, I love the  1970  musical version starring Albert Finney! He is such a character!

Hugs ~n~ Blessings!

  2. My grandma had a cookie recipe she made a big deal of (& didn't share). I got it when she passed on and it turned out to be even more difficult than she let on!

    Love your photos, so pretty.

  8. We both love A Christmas Carol! I also saw the 1938 version tonight...but I love the version you mention as well. I guess I enjoy them all except maybe the ones with The Flintstones or Mr. Magoo. :)

That cheese ball looks awesome....I used to make one every year, but got out of the habit for some reason. You made me put that on my loooooong list of Christmas to-dos!

  14. Love all your pink ornaments, but my favorite is the red berry wreath with the bird.

Funny about the recipes. Most of the time, my mom and I don't even go by recipes. We know generally how much of stuff to use, then change it according to what we think tastes good. Then when people ask us for the recipe, they don't seem to believe us when we can't give them one. There is no "secret" like people think, but when you just start throwing things in the pan, it's hard to tell people amounts and that sort of thing.

Thanks for visitng my blog and enjoying the pink Christmas cottage!
