Some Vintage Favorites!

Hi Bloggerette sisters!

Drop by the new Bloggerette Sorority blog and introduce yourself to our new "Hostess", Debi from Life In My Studio.  And while you're there grab the new sorority button!

I was suppose to be working on organizing and cleaning my little studio today, that just isn't going to happen.  Especially now that I have ran across some of my favorite pretties, I'll just log this day as a "rummage my stash" day.

I found these old vintage pens and pencils! I just adore the old refillable pencils, they are so small and dainty..

This was one of my grandfather's ink pens and it looks well used...

And the scarf! I love vintage scarves, this one belonged to my grandmother, I don't ever remember seeing her wear it but I do remember her opening her purse and showing me everything she carried in it, she said it was a must to always have a pretty scarf tucked into your purse just in case the weather turned "unforgiving" and threatened to mess your hair up..

Oh, and the old rotary dial phone! My sons and their friends are just so amazed with this phone, I've had to plug it in and let each one take a turn calling someone on it! I've never seen teenagers so amazed and memorized by simply using their fingers to spin the dial and then the excitement of watching the dial slowly return to its position. And why each child thought they needed to yell into the phone, OMG! JUST HILARIOUS!  I think this phone has out done the video games around here!  I'm not about to tell them that dial phones are all I knew growing up, jeez I'm getting old..

Okay, one last pretty for now...my tea keeper! I love this little tin, so romantic..

Thank you for dropping by and visiting with me!

Spiritual Sunday's (God so loved the world...)

Remembering a beloved sister and friend, Kimberly Ludeke 1968 - 2011

Jhn 3:16     For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This is from a study I did a while back, after listening to so many saying that we need to "die to self" and stopping to ask myself if I really understood what that means, I found that I had what I now call a "Peter" understanding of it...Let me see if I can explain,

We are crucified with our Lord and we do "die to self" but I think the words that the Lord used for this dieing is to "lay down" our life...

Jhn 14:15   If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Jhn 14:21      He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

What does it mean to be crucified with Him...to walk with Him, in Him and Him in you...to do the things He does...

Jhn 10:15  As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

Jhn 10:17  Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

Jhn 10:18  No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

 Again:
Jhn 14:15   If ye love me, keep my commandments.

This is what I call my "Peter understanding"

Jhn 13:37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.

Jhn 13:38 Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.

For the three times Peter denied our Lord...the Lord also asked him three times "do you love me"

I don't see Peter denying the Lord as something he failed at, he loved the Lord and was willing to lay down his life to prove that love,  But there was still more for Peter to understand at that time...

What did Peter not understand?

Jhn 13:37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake.

The Lord does not ask us to lay down our lives for HIS SAKE...He ask us to love the world as God so loved the world and lay down our life for each other's sake... He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me:

1Jo 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love [of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren.

Hugs' and Blessings for a beautiful week!

Tea cups and Diaries...

Hi everyone!
I just had to share these sweet little tea cups I found, they were two little loners sitting on a shelf in our locate thrift store and I couldn't pass them up, the evergreen and pine cones are just adorable. There were no matching saucers for them but after looking through the strays I did find two prefect little saucers that go so well with them! I'm hoping to do a prettier setting with them, these were quick snap shots I did while photographing the new "Diary Journals" for my shop.

Here are a few shoots of the new journals, I really like making these diary journals, maybe it has something to do with my love and addiction for recording my personal thoughts every night! I used an assortment of med. and heavy weight paper in the journals for the added feature of  heavy card stock for scrap-booking.

I'm truly disappointed with the photos of this one! I could not capture the awesome color blends...I'll have to try to get better pictures of it outside in the natural light, it's just gorgeous with the pastels and then the bold trim added!

Congrats! to ArtFire!

Hi everyone! Last week was such a busy week for me and I am so ready to take a break and 'blog surf' all the pinks from Saturday but before I do let me shout out a CONGRATULATIONS! to Artfire.

Sellers Choice Marketplace Ratings: Artfire

In January 2011, AuctionBytes surveyed almost 2,800 online sellers and asked them to rate the marketplaces on which they had experience selling.

Summary:
ArtFire came in first place with an overall rating of 8.2 on a scale of 1 to 10. Its highest marks were for Communication (8.63). While its lowest marks were for Profitability (6.64), that was second highest score among all the marketplaces.

I have to say that I don't mind promoting ArtFire and if you have never checked them out before, "What are you waiting for!"   When I took part in the survey I didn't expect what I had wrote to be posted openly but since it was I'm going to share it here on my blog. I wasn't writing a sales hype with my response just the truth, the Artfire staff and the other sellers there are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met.

My comment from the survey:

I'm new to selling on-line and after querying many different sites before making my decision which venue to try, the staff at ArtFire were the only ones to respond to my many questions, they provided me with an array of helpful links, solutions and answers. The Artfire staff along with the other sellers there have never failed to patiently and quickly jump to help each other, it's like joining a caring family, they go above and beyond any expectations I had from comparing other venues, I do recommend Artfire especially to people that are weary and new to selling on-line! I have gained not only professional advise and knowledge but a wonderful support system and great friends at Artfire!

Okay, I'll leave you with some pictures of new pretties! I just love these journals!

Okay, Carol over at "The Polka Dot Closet" has put me to guilt and shame with her neat and organized stash!!!

WOW! She did such a great job!

NOW! Just look at mine!

I need HELP! ! This is the materials and fabrics I have pulled out of the closet to work with in the last four months...they just get piled on the shelves when I finish with them and never seem to find their way back to the closet! YUCK!  I've turned... SLOB!

This stack of vintage material is waiting to be cleaned...My treadmill is just keeping it company!

So now that I have shared my mess with you, cross your fingers and say some prayers! I'm diving into this mess in hopes of a Carol Polka Dot Closet after result! Sissie will be so proud of me...I HAVE FIVE GALLONS OF WHITE PAINT!!! I'm not just going to organize, I'm going to cure the whole room with a fresh bath in white!

Let me at least end this post with something pretty to look at...
